Love the French Onion Soup! $7.95 for one bowl of french onion soup

Good food...panini's are very good. Service is spotty. Sometimes great, sometimes very slow. One time we went the server brought the check with the food...which for us was perfect. Most recent time we went we had to wait for the check. No one wants to wait for the check. Still, the food is good.

The French Onion soup is simply the best. Lunch specials are great if you would like to do a soup and a half sandwich. The bagguettes are the real deal. All the ingredients were fresh and top notch. I could see dinner here getting expensive fast. So if that's not your thing, but you want some great french food, hit this place up for lunch.

I was very disappointed with this restaurant. Kids chicken came out with 2 small tenders and about 20 french fries, when asked for more, we received the same order, this time in a bowl. The management was setting up for the holiday and was standing on the chair next to my table while trying to tie decorations from the wall to the light fixture.

Excellent food, dismal service. The waiters should be taught how to serve a table (ladies first) and how to retrieve the dishes (not to stack one on top of the other in front of the person). The check was put on the table before they brought the coffee without having asked if somebody wanted something else. This was before 10 PM. One of the waitresses' accent made it very difficult to understand what she was saying. Needs some work before being called a "bistro".

I love French food and so happy a friend referred us to the Casimir while my husband and I were visiting his son in Boca Raton! We arrived really early for supper because my stepson hadn't eaten all day, so it wasn't busy...yet. We had the waiter recommend a white wine after we all decided what we wanted to eat. They served us freshly baked & sliced french bread in a napkin-lined basket. We had two...baskets. We ordered appetizers first. My stepson and I both ordered their escargot. It was divine and served differently than all the many escargot dishes I've eaten throughout the world over the last 40 years. The snails are cooked in a scrumptious sauce that is made with garlic, shallots, parsley butter, Pastis, and wild mushrooms, served on and topped with puff pastry. It was one of the best escargot dishes I've eaten... My husband had their onion soup, he said it was one of the best he'd tasted. My regret is that I was not hungrier, so that is why I only had the Caesar salad with chicken. I was pleasantly surprised by the presentation. It was not your typical Caesar served with grilled chicken strips, oh no...The Caesar had these 4 beautiful sauteed pieces of chicken served on the sides of the bowl, beautiful and scrumptious. My husband had the Coq au Vin and my stepson had the Cajun Chicken. They were both very happy with their choices. There wasn't anything left on my husband's plate. As I said before, I wish I had been hungrier because the food is wonderful. But then there is next time, eh?

Love this place! It's way better than Sequella (next door) and always less crowded. Food is fantastic. The salmon with beurre blanc sauce is outta this world. Great salads and sandwiches for lunch.

Unbelievable service. Upon arrival we felt welcomed and we were immediately seated. The atomosphere is great and the manager walked around greeting everyone. Food came within a reasonable timeframe and it was fantastic. The beef bourignon was very rich in flavor and fell right off the fork. It was served with mashed potatoes and carrots that complemented the meal perfectly. I would definitely reccomend this place. 5 stars all the way.

Absolutely the most authentic atmosphere and best truly French food. Try the duck l'orange and you'll realize you've never had duck properly before. Wine Selection is fairly priced and amazing too. (You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu... All impressive)

Not so French... but good food except the muscles, one of my favorite dish Mine were full of sand couldn't eat them .Enjoyed half of my husband's duck a l'orange, excellent. Service was good. Onion soupe better than average. A little pricy

One of the worst experiences ever. Service sucked. The only French food was the French Fries. I had Cajun Chicken, it came cold, took them 15 min. To warm it, was so bad. The food level does not justify the price.

My husband and I absolutely love Casimir! The owners are a lovely French couple! We eat at Casimir so often we have the menu memorized! It is absolutely wonderful from the bread to the dessert! They have some fantastic specials! You have to try Casimir Love it!

This place is very adorably and typically French like you would imagine in a movie. Cute cafe atmosphere with vintage French posters. It's nice. I love French onion soup, and judge it harshly. They use amazingly cheese (good, hearty gruyere), but the broth was too salty and too much 'straight from the beef bouillon cube' flavor with minimal seasoning. The bread wasn't hard enough as well and was a bit of a gooey mess. Not amazing, but a good, valiant effort. I get French onion soup almost everywhere I go that has it (can't help it, it's a problem), and I wouldn't order this one again. The sandwich I ordered, the Parisian, was good and worth coming back for. Again, they have the cheese right, and the ham was very good. Service was good for us and our waitress was incredibly nice and fun. For being in a fairly large group, I was surprised to get refills without asking at all! Always a sign of great service.

My husband and I came here for out first time this past Christmas Eve. The hostess was very friendly and gave us a few options where to sit. We decided to sit in the Garden area which was very quaint and romantic. The service was perfect! My husband ordered escargot, which I had no interest in tasting but he said it was the best escargot he has ever had! The escargot was served over a puff pastry with mushrooms. I ordered the mushroom soup and it was delicious! It wasn't full of dairy and you could taste the freshness of the ingredients. For the main course I ordered Salmon served with spinach and potatoes in a puff pastry! This dish was amazing! My husband couldn't stop eating off my plate... It was that good! Then for dessert we got the flourless chocolate cake served with vanilla ice cream. This dessert was sinful! We enjoyed every bite! I recommend this restaurant. The service was great, romantic atmosphere and amazing food!

We LOVE this place!! Although I most often hear people talking about the main courses, I have to say; my spouse and I come here often for the soup! They have a different soup daily and they are all delicious. They also have a great lunch special for half a soup and sandwich for under 10 dollars! If you are looking for the best French bread in Boca, go to Casimir. They offer them frozen or fresh. I have not tried anything here that I did not like and will keep coming back whether it is for the frog legs or the dodo's pasta!

This was my second dining experience here. I did the deluxe 3 course meal for $37, which is a great deal. My starter was their house cured salmon gravlax. It's not overly salty, lightly peppered, and went well with the sweet fennel on top. The sesame dipping sauce was good, but it was strange mixing Asian flavors with gravlax. My second course was veal milanese. The veal was a little too thinly pounded and dry, but was saved by the arugula, fennel, tomato salad, which was my favorite part of the dish. The truffle mash potatoes was a decent side, not wow. I was surprisingly impressed by the dessert, tarte tartin, an apple upside down cake with vanilla ice cream. It's not overly sweet and had a great balance of caramel and apple flavor. I loved it, even though I'm not crazy about desserts. Server was polite. I was with 2 children and sat outside. It's a charming little French bistro. Overall: a very pleasant experience.
Great french bistro- nice atmosphere, sit indoors or out; prix fixe menu if you wish. Good food, Great value- have the duck. wine/beer, not full bar. This is a place that's easy to go back to again and again.

Nice meal. No complaints about food. Not amazing but collectively a good night. Might be regional French cooking. They were missing some of my favorite Parisian dishes. Bread basket was ice cold and disappointing. French onion soup was decent. Not on par with Rendezvous in FTL. Will probably go back. The ambiance was amenable to our taste.

Love their mussels and fries. Unfortunately the restaurant has minimal air conditioning. A bug flew into my wine. Instead of giving me a fresh glass, the waitress brought only 1/2 glass. When I commented she said that was exactly the amount you had. I'm not so sure I got fresh wine. Not too classy.

I went to Casimir for lunch...was walking through Royal Palm and did not really know what to expect. I had trouble with the menu and asked the server a few questions but they really were not too helpful. I think I will have to give Casimir another shot and maybe head there for dinner instead and try the french onion soup or the escargots...
(3)

The vegetarian pea soup was especially nice at lunch. I liked the option of soup & 1/2 sandwich, with the additional choice of cup or bowl of soup. Since it was a typical Florida summer afternoon, complete with sudden shower, I finished lunch during the rain with the creme brulee and American coffee. Also an excellent choice. Service was good and attentive.

Awful French bistro, Cajun chicken, really??? Owner seemed pompous and unapologetic for all of the errors on our food order. Server tried to explain they were short staffed, is that really a valid excuse for serving us extremely below par food? Will never be back!

I'm extremely disappointed with the way I was recently treated at Casimir. However, let me get the story straight. Both the hostess (sorry, don't know her name) and Bruno are AMAZING. They've always recognized my family and I and made us feel special. My husband and kids LOVE the mussels, and I recently fell in love with the seafood crepe. The place is owned by a French couple. He is the perfect restauranteur. Cordial to everyone, always has a smile on his face. My issue has, unfortunately been with his wife... Last time we went there was to celebrate my brother's birthday. We made reservations for 8:15pm. We were a party of 7, which included 3 kids. We finally got seated at 9pm and our food came to the table at 10pm, at which point, the kids were falling apart, and we were all too underwhelmed with the owner's brother service to enjoy ourselves anymore. She (the owner) was too busy entertaining her friends at a nearby table to pay attention to what was happening to her customers. At the time, I did express my disappointment, but also assured the hostess we'd definitely come back, as Casimir is (used to be) one of our favorites places to go. More recently, I stopped by to inquire if Casimir would donate a Gift Card to my kids' school's upcoming fundraising event. Don't get me wrong! I know businesses can't possibly give out donations to everyone that asks. They absolutely need to draw the line. However, they need to know how to handle it properly and be kind when saying "no". Telling me you're only donating to your regular customers is NOT a good way... Specially because I do (used to) consider myself a regular... I mean, we've been celebrating every family birthday there, we've been bringing friends and family who visit from Brazil to try the mussels, we've had huge tables for the "all you can eat mussels" Mondays... Does that not make us regulars???? It's a shame, how one person can ruin the experience in an otherwise GREAT place. I'm really disappointed, and astounded that someone who deals with customers all day long, just ignores basic rules of etiquette... Sad, sad, sad

Really enjoyed. Went with a group and ordered the set menu with escargot, mussels for dinner, and flourless choc cake with ice cream. Also had Red Snapper. The salad was a little blah. Nice ambiance. Not trendy, but stable clientele. Only knock was that we were charged double for our bar tab that we had already closed out. When we mentioned, the waiter said he didn't realize unless we told him. Call me crazy, but shouldn't he check with the bartender before scamming our bill? The comment didn't sit right. I will note that the assistant waiter, Brennan, was a joy. He was always on hand to provide water, napkins, clear plates, etc. He really impressed me with his classy, respectful attention to our table.

The fare here is always perfect! Try the veal papardelli with the peach members for dessert, mmmmm... Magic Mike is the best waiter ever!! :-)
(5)Robert M.
Love this place! It's way better than Sequella (next door) and always less crowded. Food is fantastic. The salmon with beurre blanc sauce is outta this world. Great salads and sandwiches for lunch.
(5)Abel K.
(5)Peter T.
Absolutely the most authentic atmosphere and best truly French food. Try the duck l'orange and you'll realize you've never had duck properly before. Wine Selection is fairly priced and amazing too. (You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu... All impressive)
(5)Evelyne T.
Not so French... but good food except the muscles, one of my favorite dish Mine were full of sand couldn't eat them .Enjoyed half of my husband's duck a l'orange, excellent. Service was good. Onion soupe better than average. A little pricy
(3)Jeff R.
OK fare. Specials have several up charges so not so special. Food was good, but needed something. I'll try again.
(3)David H.
One of the worst experiences ever. Service sucked. The only French food was the French Fries. I had Cajun Chicken, it came cold, took them 15 min. To warm it, was so bad. The food level does not justify the price.
(1)Victoria F.
My husband and I absolutely love Casimir! The owners are a lovely French couple! We eat at Casimir so often we have the menu memorized! It is absolutely wonderful from the bread to the dessert! They have some fantastic specials! You have to try Casimir Love it!
(5)Katherine M.

(5)JM S.

Stopped in for lunch while walking around Royal Palm and was very happy with the food and service. Lunch prices are very reasonable. They have soup and half sandwich specials. Had the parma sandwich and french onion soup. Everything was fresh, Service was good. Outdoor seating is very nice.

A taste of Paris at the beach in Boca is a treat ambiance perfect inside or outside and so is the service excellent food--salad nicoise was perfect everyone said the same about their dishes deserts over the top we enjoyed it all Great place anytime.
(5)Miranda P.
Really great food and awesome service! Drinks stay full, and food comes out fast. Great atmosphere. I had the club sandwich and French onion soup and the creme brûlée it was great!
(5)Donna R.
We were referred here from friends and to our surprise we had a wonderful dinner! I had the french onion soup, hot and cheesy. My husband had the escargot buttery and rich. My friend had the Cesar salad with fresh parm cheese. Then we went onto main courses, mussels in white wine and butter delicious,The grilled salmon , spinach and potato gratin is sure to please just about anyone. The seafood linguine came with big shrimp, scallops, mussels. It had just the right flavors. My husband had sweetbreads which were very tender and came with baby greens! They melted in your mouth! Now onto dessert, creamy vanilla Creme brûlée so delicious, and chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. Overall, we all had a great meal!!! The service was very attentive, and very friendly. Did i mention they also serve beer and wine! I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
(5)Happy E.
PROS: food is very fresh. and tastes really good. love your breakfast soup+sandwitch combos. CONS: overpriced
(4)Martin P.
Food is reasonably high quality but the service has been very weak both times I've been here. They seem to equate full water glasses with great service but then are rude and hurried. I'll pass on going back.
(2)Mayra S.
The best French food I ever had in Florida. WOW! The beef bourguignon and escargot were delicious! Nice ambiance and good service. We will be going back soon!
(5)Diana L.
(4)lee f.
My fiancé and I went to Paris for our baby moon and enjoyed the food immensely! All we did was eat. I have to say that the food is right up there, a true authentic gem. Try the French onion soup and the escargot.
(5)Stephen S.
Great french bistro- nice atmosphere, sit indoors or out; prix fixe menu if you wish. Good food, Great value- have the duck. wine/beer, not full bar. This is a place that's easy to go back to again and again.
(4)Kevin S.
(3)Charlotte M.
Really great atmosphere and food!!!! My Boeuf Bourguignon was excellent with a delicious homemade mash potatoes and my dessert ,an amazing chocolate cake!!!! My favorite french bistrot in boca !
(5)Jenn W.
Amazing duck. Service was okay - not as bad as other reviews suggest.
(5)Flo A.
(2)Chris P.
(3)Eve A.
(4)Jennifer F.

(1)Christina S.

I like this place very much and have been there twice. However, for some reason, I always leave a little hungry, not sure why. But don't let this disappoint you and go ahead and try it out.

Good food...panini's are very good. Service is spotty. Sometimes great, sometimes very slow. One time we went the server brought the check with the food...which for us was perfect. Most recent time we went we had to wait for the check. No one wants to wait for the check. Still, the food is good.
